Calculating Angles (A) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Year groups: Year 6
Learning objective: Recognise angles where they meet at a point, right angle or on a straight line and find missing angles.

Calculating Angles (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Use three basic angle facts to calculate missing angles with this worksheet. Encourage students to complete this worksheet without the use of a calculator to also help improve mental or written numeracy skills.

In section A, students will find missing angles within right angles, followed by missing angles on straight lines in section B. Pupils will calculate missing angles around a point in section C.

Section D consists of two diagrams made up of multiple straight lines and intersections with some angles given and some angles labelled for students to calculate. Here learners will use all three rules from this worksheet and even be introduced to the additional rule of vertically opposite angles being equal.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your child will apply three fundamental angle facts: angles in a right angle sum to 90°, angles on a straight line sum to 180°, and angles around a point sum to 360°. The learning objective focuses on recognising these specific situations where angles meet and using them to find missing values. By the final section, they'll also encounter vertically opposite angles, which are always equal when two straight lines intersect.
