Comparing Volume WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Students beginning to learn about volume and measurement can practise their ability estimate and compare volumes with this worksheet.

Over 10 questions, students will identify which jugs are full, empty, less than half full etc, decide which jug has the most/least liquid in it and colour in jugs to fit requirements such as containing more or less liquid than another jug.

All the jugs are the same throughout the worksheet to enable pupils to focus on the basics of capacity and volume.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet introduces essential capacity terms that Year 1 pupils need to master: full, empty, more than, less than, half, half full and a quarter. Through the visual exercises with jugs, children will become confident using this mathematical language to describe what they observe. These foundational terms are crucial building blocks for more advanced measurement work later on.
