Coordinate Shapes (with clues) WORKSHEET
Coordinate Shapes (with clues) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Here we have provided five-coordinate grids alongside five sets of four coordinates. Each pair of coordinates is the vertex of a quadrilateral. Students will plot each coordinate on the corresponding grid and then decide how they should connect the points to form a quadrilateral before naming the shape they have drawn.
We have created two versions of this worksheet in case your learners may need a helping hand remembering and naming the quadrilaterals. This option with clues provides a named drawing of 6 different quadrilaterals.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions
This worksheet builds on the Year 6 learning objective to describe positions on the full coordinate grid across all four quadrants. Pupils will practise accurately plotting vertices and develop their understanding of how coordinate pairs work together to define geometric shapes. The activity strengthens both their coordinate plotting technique and their ability to visualise mathematical relationships spatially.
