Learning objective: Combine amounts of money to makea particular value

Making £1 WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Combining coins to make a particular value helps pupils develop their recognition of coins and builds understanding of their relative value. This worksheet does this whilst reinforcing the equivalence of 100p and £1 and in turn number bonds of 100.

Pupils have three different activities complete. In section A, they are provided with 5 different groups of coins to which they are asked to draw coins so that each group sums to £1. Learners are required to recognise and add the coins in each group and then count on to £1 using the correct denomination of coins.

In section B, your students will fill gaps in addition statements where amounts in pence are added to make £1.

Lastly in section C, learners are shown three purses with different amounts of money inside and they must identify which purse contains £1.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
