Multiply decimals by integers WORKSHEET

Suitable for Year groups: Year 6
Learning objective: Multiply numbers with up to two decimal places by whole numbers

Multiply decimals by integers WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Learners will use three different methods to multiply decimals by single digit integers throughout this worksheet.

Firstly, section A makes use of decimal number lines to calculate multiplications such as 0.7 x 5. Pupils are encouraged to draw bar models on top of the number lines to reach their answers.

Known multiplication facts are used in section B as students consider the link between multiplication questions such as 4 x 9 and 0.4 x 9.

The column method for the multiplication of decimals is introduced in section C. Here, learners will multiply ones and tenths by ones and build up to multiplying numbers with two decimal places by ones.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
