Numerals and Words (up to 100) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Children will recognise, read and write numbers up to 100 in words whilst completing this worksheet, building on their work on partitioning numbers into tens and ones.

Section A is a match up activity where learners will pair numbers written in numerals and words. Numbers are chosen to highlight any misconceptions early such as the numbers between 10 and 20 and numbers with the same digits in reverse.

In section B, pupils have to write numbers given in words in numerals. This encourages number recognition.

Lastly, in section C learners will write ten numbers in words that are given to them in numerals.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet focuses on helping Year 2 pupils read and write numbers to at least 100 in numerals and in words, which is a key learning objective at this stage. The activities are carefully designed to address common areas of confusion, particularly with tricky numbers between 10 and 20 like 'thirteen' and 'thirty', as well as numbers that might be easily reversed such as 14 and 41. Your child will strengthen their understanding of how numbers are represented in both numerical and written form.
