Finding a part is a great way to introduce young learners to subtraction without using the subtraction symbol. Once students have used part whole models to find the whole or represent part whole scenarios they can move on to finding a part. This worksheet will give students practise of finding missing parts where the wholes are 10 or less.

The worksheet employs visual aids such as 10 frames and counters to support students in solving these problems. Physical counters could be given to students to use throughout if necessary.
