Scale Lengths WORKSHEET

Suitable for Year groups: Year 6
Learning objective: Using ratio to convert between scale drawing lengths and real life distances

Scale Lengths WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet provides some basic practice for learners in the skill of measuring distances from scale drawings. In each section, a line is provided which will need to be measured either to the nearest centimetre or half a centimetre. Learners will then need to complete a table for either the real length given a scale, or the scale used if given the real length.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your child will be practising using ratio to convert between scale drawing lengths and real life distances, which is a key part of the Ratio and Proportion topic. They'll develop their measurement skills by working with rulers to measure lines accurately, whilst also strengthening their understanding of how ratios work in practical situations. This combination of hands-on measuring and mathematical reasoning helps build confidence with both geometry and number work.
