Learning objective: Add and subtract fractions with different denominators.

Using a Fraction Wall - Adding Fractions WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Adding fractions using a fraction wall reinforces the fact that fractions must have the same denominator in order to add them. This worksheet will help your learners to find equivalent fractions before adding a pair of fractions.

There are 15 questions in total for pupils to answer which have been carefully put together to aid learners progression; beginning with adding fractions with the same denominators, moving on to finding the sum of pairs of fractions where one denominator is a multiple of the other, then when denominators share a common factor and lastly when equivalent fractions on the wall must found before the fractions can be added.

There are more resources in our series using a fraction wall, including introducing the fraction wall, finding equivalent fractions and comparing fractions. See them in the related resources below.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
