Writing Addition Statements WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
The aim of this worksheet is to teach students how to write addition sentences based on visual models and introduce the addition and equals symbols.
In section A, learners will write addition sentences for various pictorial representations, find multiple addition sentences that represent the same picture and match pictures to the correct number sentence.
Section B introduces part whole models and bar models. Pupils will write addition sentences to match the given model. Some of the models are only partially completed and the whole must also be found.
All numbers used are single digits and all additions are within 10. The manipulatives used are counters, dice, ten frames and number frames.
