Learning Objective: Use given coordinates, vertical and horizontal lines to find missing coordinates in 3D

3D Coordinates WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

3D coordinates were removed from the British Curriculum during the GCSE reform in 2015 and so are no longer essential for your students to learn. However, this worksheet still provides a wonderful problem-solving activity for any excelling pupils looking for an extra challenge!

Here, cuboids are drawn on x, y and z axes with all vertices labelled. Students will be given the coordinates of one of these vertices and asked to find the coordinates of the others.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your pupils should be comfortable working with 2D coordinates in all four quadrants before tackling these 3D problems. This foundation will help them understand how the z-axis extends the coordinate system they already know. Once they grasp this concept, they'll be better equipped to visualise how cuboids exist in three-dimensional space.
