Add and Subtract Surds WORKSHEET

This worksheet is designed to enhance learners' understanding of manipulating surds through addition and subtraction.

In Section A, students work on simplifying various expressions by combining like surds, reinforcing their skills in identifying and working with similar terms. The surds themselves do not need simplifying at this point.

Section B and Section C require students to simplify surds before collecting like surds. Each section consists of 8 questions which get increasingly more difficult.

Pupils will problem solve in Section D as they complete two addition pyramids, where they must find sums of surd values to complete the puzzles, and calculate the perimeter of two polygons where lengths are given as exact values.
