Column Vectors (A) WORKSHEET
Column Vectors (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet is designed to help learners convert between vector diagrams and written column vectors and to explore the sum of vectors diagrammatically.
Section A provides some grids with either vectors shown and blank column vectors or the column vector given and a blank grid in need of a diagram.
Section B then required learners to draw the sum of two column vectors and then to write the sum from a diagram. An extension task asks learners to consider vectors in opposite directions and vectors of equal magnitude.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions
Students should have a solid understanding of coordinates before tackling this vectors worksheet. This foundation will help them grasp how column vectors relate to movement on a grid and make the transition between diagrammatic and written forms much clearer. Without this coordinate knowledge, pupils may struggle to interpret the grid-based vector representations.
