Combining Ratios WORKSHEET
Combining Ratios WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet gives a scaffolded approach to solving ratio problems involving converting two two-part ratios to a single three-part ratio.
Section A leads learners through a structured process to find a common multiple which will give the final three-part ratio.
Section B provides more problems similar to Section A but with blank tables and no scaffolding.
Section C then introduces the problem of the ratio of distances between four points on a line. A diagram and structured process are provided for each question.
Section D then provides some worded contextual problems which will require the processes used in the earlier sections.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions
Students should be confident with equivalent ratios and finding lowest common multiples, as these skills form the foundation for combining ratios effectively. They'll also need to understand sharing ratios and angles in a triangle, since the worksheet builds on these concepts to develop the more complex skill of converting multiple ratios into a single three-part ratio.
