Constructing an Easter Egg WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet gives a step-by-step process for constructing an egg shape using a straight edge and a pair of compasses. To simplify the process, an initial cross shape is provided to avoid the need for the knowledge of constructing perpendicular bisectors. The process is displayed in an easy to flow diagrammatical form, so should be suitable for both KS2 and KS3 learners. Pages with the initial cross shaped are also provided.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students should already be comfortable using a pair of compasses before tackling this egg construction activity. Whilst the worksheet provides guidance on the construction process itself, familiarity with basic compass techniques will help them follow the step-by-step instructions more confidently and achieve better results.
