Enlargement with Fractional Scale Factors (B) WORKSHEET
Suitable for Year groups: Year 10, Year 11
GCSE Tier: Foundation/Higher
Targeting grades: 4-5
Prerequisite knowledge: Enlarging objects with positive integer scale factors from centres of enlargement.
Enlargement with Fractional Scale Factors (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet on enlargement is designed to allow students to practice enlarging basic shapes by positive fractional scale factors from given centres of enlargement. The worksheet is on square paper, perfect for students to work directly on the sheet.
Learners are asked to enlarge eight different objects by different scale factors, which include: unit fractions, proper and improper fractions and a decimal. The centre of enlargement, marked with an 'X', varies in position relative to the object; from on a vertex, in line with a vertex, or inside the object.
Ensure pupils use a pencil and ruler to complete the transformations.
