Equation of a circle WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet is designed to provide scaffolding for learners to aid in recognising and finding equations of circles.

Section A asks learners to select which equations from a list are circles and state the radius.

Section B gives images of circles centred at the origin and asks learners to write the equation of each circle.

Section C wants the equation for a circle through a given point, and section D asks learners to sketch a circle from their equations.

An extension question asks learners to estimate the solutions to simultaneous equations involving one of the circles from section D and a straight line.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
