Fibonacci Sequences WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
"This worksheet introduces students to Fibonacci and Fibonacci-style sequences, giving them the opportunity to recognise patterns and extend sequences in a variety of contexts.
In Section A, pupils fill in missing terms in the classic Fibonacci sequence before tackling sequences that follow the same rule with different starting values, including negative terms.
Section B builds on this by introducing algebraic Fibonacci-style sequences, where letters replace numbers and students must use their knowledge of expressions to generate terms.
Section C increases the challenge further with sequences in algebraic expressions, as well as questions requiring reasoning to find unknown terms or solve for variables.
The progression of tasks supports fluency, problem solving, and a deeper understanding of how recurrence relationships can be expressed."
