Inputs and Outputs - Two Step Function Machines WORKSHEET
Suitable for Year groups: Year 7, Year 8
GCSE Tier: Foundation
Targeting grades: 1-3
Prerequisite knowledge: Completing four operations using mental methods. Selecting the appropriate inverse operation.
Inputs and Outputs - Two Step Function Machines WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Your students can get a practice of mental methods whilst considering operations and their inverses throughout this worksheet. Function machines are also a good stepping stone for algebraic methods.
In section A, students will be processing inputs through double-operation function machines.
In section B, students will complete the number machines by using inverse operations to find the inputs from given outputs.
Pupils will find both inputs and outputs of two-step function machines in section C.
Most inputs and outputs are positive integers. Learners only have to work with decimal numbers on four occasions and add to a negative number once.
