Magnitude of a Vector WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet is designed to consolidate the understanding of the magnitude of a vector. It would also be suitable for an A-level Mathematics students.

Section A wants learners to think about the magnitude of vectors a, b and c and combinations of them along with their magnitude and column vector. Section B then extends this to a geometrical problem involving a trapezium.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students should be confident with column vectors and vector arithmetic before tackling these problems. They'll also need a solid understanding of Pythagoras' Theorem, as this is fundamental to calculating vector magnitudes using the square root of the sum of squared components.
