Percentage Decrease - Using a Bar Model WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Bar models provide an excellent visual tool for understanding percentages and help bridge the gap between concrete, pictorial, and abstract concepts.
Throughout this worksheet, learners will decrease amounts by given percentages with the help of bar models.
In questions 1 - 7, bar models are already drawn for pupils. We have added extra scaffolding as the percentage decrease is shown on each model too. Question 8, the final question, requires pupils to construct their own model.
Amounts will be decreased by percentages that are all multiples of 5 and or 10.
We have created a series of worksheets that utilise the bar model to aid students, including percentage increase.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
