Frequently Asked Questions

Students should have a solid grasp of their times tables as prerequisite knowledge before tackling these column method questions. This foundation will help them work more confidently with the partial products when multiplying by numbers between 10 and 20, as well as the larger 2-digit multipliers in the second section. Without secure times tables, pupils may struggle with the accuracy required for formal written multiplication methods.
