Prime Factor Decomposition Using Factor Trees WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Our structured worksheet, starting with an example, asks students to find the prime factor decomposition of numbers up to 3000.

Finding the product of prime factors is carried out by using factor trees. In section A, the factor trees are drawn out for students already, and we differentiate all factors into prime or composite numbers. In this section, all numbers have four prime factors, and students must write their answers in index form.

In section B, students will draw their factor trees to find the prime factor decomposition of six numbers ranging in difficulty from 32 to 2925.
