Ratio and Fractions (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Images are used in Ratio and Fractions A to aid in students' understanding of ratio and fraction equivalence.

Section A starts with 3 questions around coloured counters with the ratios stated. Students will consider the total parts and see the link between this and the denominator of the equivalent fraction.

Then, in section B, learners are given three partially shaded rectangles, which they then have to state fractions and ratios of the shaded and unshaded parts.

In section C, students are given a fraction and asked to convert this into a two-part ratio.

Now try Ratio and Fractions B!

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students should already be comfortable with writing ratios and fractions of objects before tackling this resource. This foundational skill is essential as the worksheet builds upon these basics to explore the deeper connections between ratios and fractions. Without this prerequisite knowledge, learners may struggle to grasp the equivalence concepts presented.
