Using a Calculator (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet encourages pupils to use calculator functions and buttons to carry out operations such as squaring, squaring rooting, using brackets, multiplying by pi, finding the mean of decimal numbers and more.

In section A, pupils will write down the full calculator display to seven questions such as 34.88 × 2.13 – 15.64. Then in section B, pupils will answer seven worded questions, considering how to use their calculator to do so.

Learners need to be able to find fractions of amounts, calculate the mean, find the area of a triangle, round to a given number of decimal places and significant figures in order to answer the questions in section B.
