Using Exact Trig Values WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet is designed to give practice in using the exact trigonometric ratios to find missing values. This worksheet does not require knowledge of the sine rule or cosine rule.

Section A begins by presenting the two special right-angle triangles and the table of ratios to be completed.

Section B then requires learners to use the exact values in some products and sums.

Section C then presents some right-angle triangles with missing angles.

Section D provides triangles with missing sides.

Lastly, section E provides some problems involving exact trig values related to other topics such as area, angles in polygons and coordinate geometry.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students will work with the exact trigonometric ratios for 0, 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees throughout this resource. These are the key angles that appear frequently in GCSE Higher tier mathematics, and knowing their exact values allows for precise calculations rather than decimal approximations. The worksheet begins by helping students complete a table of these ratios before applying them to solve various problems.
