This worksheet provides a comprehensive selection of questions involving the volume and surface area of cones and spheres.

In section A, learners will need to be able to find both the volume and surface area for given spheres, cones and a compound shape made from a cone and hemisphere. They will also need to work backwards to find the radius of a sphere with a given volume or surface area.

Section B then asks learners to use the sectors and circles that would be the nets of cones – they will need to think about how to find the height of the cone, the radius of the cone or the angle of the sector.
