Rounding Numbers to the Nearest 100 Using Number Lines (C) WORKSHEET
Rounding Numbers to the Nearest 100 Using Number Lines (C) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This is the third in our set of differentiated worksheets on rounding to the nearest 100. In this version, students will use blank number lines to round numbers with up to 4 digits to the nearest 100.
Section A consists of 13 questions with individual blank number lines that students can label to help them when rounding their numbers.
Numbers in the section progress from 3-digit numbers that are multiples of 10 to any 4-digit number.
Next, pupils will identify numbers that meet certain constraints, such as βA number that rounds to 700 when rounded to the nearest 100β.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions
The blank number lines allow children to create their own visual reference points by labelling key hundreds (like 600, 700, 800) around their target number. This hands-on approach helps them see exactly where their number sits between two hundreds, making it much clearer which hundred it's closest to. It's particularly effective because pupils are actively constructing their understanding rather than just following rules.
