Calculating Probabilities WORKSHEET
Calculating Probabilities WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Here students are given nine different scenarios/events, such as āYou will spin a 10 or less than 10 on a fair spinner with 10 sections numbered 1 - 10.ā alongside a six-interval scale with āimpossibleā at one end and ācertainā at the other.
Learners must place an arrow on the scale next to each event to show the chance of the event happening. Learners are also asked to write this probability as a fraction.
All probabilities can be shown on an interval marker on the scales, although some fractions, such as 4ā8, will need to be simplified before doing so.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Students should already be comfortable using the language of probability before attempting these exercises. This foundation will help them understand terms like 'impossible' and 'certain' as they work through the nine scenarios. Having this vocabulary in place means they can focus on the core skill of evaluating how likely different outcomes are to occur.
