Density, Mass and Volume (B) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Year groups: Year 9, Year 10
GCSE Tier: Foundation/Higher
Targeting grades: 4-5
Prerequisite knowledge: Units of mass, units of volume, arithmetic.
Learning Objective: Calculating mass, density or volume

Density, Mass and Volume (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet will provide consolidation of the compound measure density.

Section A begins the worksheet with first a table to encourage the understanding of the units of density, then a simple fill-the-gap table to calculate a missing quantity.

Section B then provides some images of 3D shapes which will require their volume to be found in order to then find the missing mass or density. The final shape involves the volume of spheres.

Section C then provides some worded questions.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students should be comfortable with units of mass and units of volume before tackling these problems. They'll also need solid arithmetic skills to manipulate the density formula and work with the calculations involved. This foundation knowledge ensures they can focus on understanding the compound measure relationships rather than getting stuck on basic conversions.
