Dividing Decimals (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet introduces dividing decimals with all the dividends being decimal numbers and all the divisors being integers.

Section A has some “bus stop” style questions, all giving terminating decimal answers. Section B has similar questions without the “bus stop” format. This section will also provide learners to experience some recurring decimal answers.

Section C then provides worded real-life context questions involving division. Finally, an extension section asks learners to convert some unit fractions to decimal forms using division.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students should be comfortable using written division methods with whole numbers before tackling decimal division. This foundational skill with integer values is essential as the same techniques are applied when working with decimal dividends. Having this prerequisite knowledge will help learners focus on understanding how to handle the decimal point during division rather than struggling with the basic division process itself.
