Indices (C) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Students can begin working with algebraic rather than numerical powers with this worksheet. There are three sections and an extension that involve simplifying expressions using the multiplication and division laws of indices and expressions containing brackets and powers.

Expressions build to contain two bases and coefficients too. Section A focuses on brackets and powers. In sections B and C, the multiplication and division laws will be used however in section C, fractions are used to represent division.

Our extension consists of two algebraic pyramids. One is completed by multiplying the two bricks below a brick and the other by dividing expressions.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
