Ratio and Fractions (B) WORKSHEET
Ratio and Fractions (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Mastering the equivalence of fractions and ratios is particularly useful for pupils who prefer to share an amount into a given ratio by using fractions.
Firstly, students will write fractions of shaded and unshaded parts of three different rectangles and also consider what the ratio of unshaded: to shaded would be.
In section B, learners are given ratios, such as the ratio of maps: globes, and asked to state the fraction of each part of the ratio.
This worksheet includes an extension where your learners can consider a ratio which includes different units of time.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions
Students should already be comfortable with writing ratios and fractions of objects before tackling this material. This foundation will help them grasp how these two mathematical concepts connect together. Without these prerequisite skills, pupils may struggle to see the relationship between ratios and their fractional equivalents.
