Time Calculations (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Time Calculations (B) will see learners using times in 12 and 24-hour formats and durations in minutes and hours as well as minutes whilst solving problems involving the duration of events and journey planning.

In section A pupils will answer worded questions involving multiple events in order to either calculate duration or use durations to start or end times.

Questions get more complex in section B. Here students will consider whether people will be on time or late by adding two or more lengths of time to a start time across different scenarios.

Section C asks pupils to use arrival times and durations to determine suggested departure times.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before tackling this worksheet, pupils should be comfortable calculating with durations of single events. This means they should already know how to work out how long one event lasts, convert between minutes and hours, and handle basic time calculations. These foundational skills will help them progress to the more complex multi-step problems involving several events and journey planning scenarios.
