Divide Decimals by Integers (B) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Year groups: Year 5, Year 6
Learning objective: Use written division methods in cases where the answer has up to two decimal places

Divide Decimals by Integers (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Dividing decimals by integers (B) asks learners to divide decimals with up to two decimals by integers where regrouping is required.

Throughout section A, students use place value counters alongside bar models or place value charts to answer six division questions. The section begins with an example that shows a unit being exchanged for 10 tenths and then the counters being divided into equal parts.

Next, in section B, decimals are flexibly partitioned based on multiples of the divisor. Experience of partitioning integers for division will be useful here.

Lastly in section C, pupils will practise using the bus stop method to divide decimals by integers.

See Dividing Decimals by Integers (A) for a version where no exchanges are required.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.
