Forming Two Step Equations WORKSHEET
Forming Two Step Equations WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet builds on pupils' ability to form one step equations and continues to use varied representations such as part whole models, bar models and algebra tiles.
Throughout the worksheet learners will match one and two step equations to models representing these equations, write down equations that different models represent, draw models to match equations and interpret written scenarios as equations whilst continuing to understand these by using models.
Here students will only focus on three operations: addition, subtraction and multiplication.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Maths.

Frequently Asked Questions
This worksheet progresses from simpler one-step problems to more complex two-step equations that require pupils to work through multiple operations. Year 6 students will need to think more strategically about the order of operations and how different parts of bar models connect together. The visual representations become particularly helpful when tackling these more challenging multi-step problems.
