This worksheet is designed to help students practise the concept of rounding numbers to the nearest multiple of 1,000.
Section A challenges students to identify multiples of 1,000 from a given list of numbers.
In Section B, students are asked to colour numbers on a number line according to whether they round up or down to the nearest thousand. They are then prompted to observe patterns and formulate a rule for rounding to the nearest 1,000 before applying this rule to decide whether numbers will round to 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000 when rounded and rounding twelve different numbers themselves.
Section C is a problem solving section.
