Prerequisite knowledge: Understand inverse operations. Rearranging formulae in one step.

Rearranging into the Form y = mx + c WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet focuses on rearranging formulae and equations under the theme of y = mx + c. An essential skill needed in order to draw straight line graphs, identify the gradient and y intercepts of equations and find perpendicular and parallel lines from equations that need rearranging first.

In section A, the coefficient of y is always 1 or -1. Next, equations include y terms with coefficients other than 1 or -1 (but still integers) in sections B and C. The sections get progressively more difficult throughout, and section D consists of fractional coefficients of y.

Rearranging equations confidently will also improve students' ability to solve a variety of linear equations and aid all of their algebra work.
